In other words, they work as a thermal battery, which temporarily hydraulically disconnects the generation and consumption of the heat. 

This is an indispensable condition for an effective waste heat energy provision, solar energy systems, TPP (thermal power plant) and other heat generators, the heat release of which is not directly coordinated with the demand. Buffer storages Storatherm have a huge range of applications. Mainly they are used for the heat energy accumulation for heating system supply.
